Looking for my fourth starter:
Vazquez - awful last year at NYY, but it's definitely the outlier in his career. Lost velocity on fastball but his last spring outing he was coming in at 90-91 consistently...if velocity is back he could be a solid SP. Shields - bad luck last year, increased K rate last year, could bounceback Romero - very good in his second year last year, third year can be a possible breakout candidate...has some serious control issues though Kennedy - originally targeted Kennedy as my #4, very solid last year, weaker NL West division...very unproven.
Thoughts? I'm really starting to lean towards Vazquez as an upside play...right now I have them:
For me it would be a choice between Vazquez and Shields and I would have to go with Shields. Javier will be turning 35 this year, the off year could be him turning the corner for his down slide.
