Who will have the better year?

Postby franklinsauce » Sat Mar 27, 2004 6:57 pm

R. Wolf, or Brandon Webb? At the moment, I was offered Webb for Wolf - I am hesitant to take it.

I am thinking that Webb doesn't have the luxury of following Schilling anymore, and has increased pressure and spotlight - Wolf has been consistently excellent, is still young, and is on an improved team with Wagner closing...

thoughts?

Wolf has been consistently excellent

You must not have owned wolf for the 2nd half of last year.

Go with Webb. Thank me in June.

Right, I know he had something like a 6 era the last two months of last year, but even so - I could probably trade him before then. Is it really worth it to trade him right now?

I'm not sure about the Webb as a stud argument. Webb has only had one year of success at the major league level, and his minor league numbers do not suggest greatness.

Don't even mention Jeff Bagwell. He's been the only consistent outlier I can think of.

How would this have any affect on him?!?! Man, the reasons some people come up with for not liking or liking a player is just really funny. [sarcasm] I heard Webb's stock portfolio has been going up, maybe that will put him in a great mood, and make him eager to perform well, so you should bump up his value. [/sarcasm]

I'd give up Wolf for Webb. :-)
