I think guys like CarGo, Tulo, Cano, etc.. while great, are less reliable and hence less valuable as your first rounder should be a lock. But that's just me.
Agon has never put up first round numbers and he is coming off surgery and Votto has put up first round numbers once
So, if had the choice, would you prefer to go for the:
3rd spot, grab Miggy and pair him with a 3b of Zimm/Youk in round 2 (whoever drops) 4/5th spot, grab Votto, and a top 3B (similar to the above Zimm/Youk, but more likely to have your choice of the 2) 5th spot and get Longo & a top 1B left in the 2nd
now, this is assuming you all rank these guys similar to I do

I'd rather gamble on Tulo at 5 over Longoria, 22 home runs is pretty light out of 3B.

That's just my $.02
Why? Is it his injury history? And who do you trust more?
Tulo is a mystery to me.....I'd be interested to see where he'd be drafted at if he hadn't gone on literally the most historic power run in major league history in September.

Probably mid 2nd at worst, he's still a shortstop with 30 home run power.
I'll take Braun at 5 in real drafts but in a shallower league like 10-12 teams and no MI/CI/5 OF, I'd think about Tulo since the margin for error isn't so thin.

There's still a pretty big difference between top 5 overall and mid-2nd round. You're essentially paying for that one month of production. I like Tulo myself but I don't think I'd take him in the top 5.
