Pick 2 out of these 4 Keeper Options (WHIR)

Postby sigriffey » Thu Mar 10, 2011 2:11 pm

I need to decide on my 2 remaining keepers. Consider these options as being for this year only since we get fresh talent every year for the most part:

H2H league that uses lots of categories, including singles, doubles, triples, etc.

Already Keeping: Crawford, Longoria, McCutchen, Jimenez

Need to keep 2 of: Jeter, Dunn, Stanton, Ellsbury

Guys who MAY be available when I get my picks (12th and 13th, so back to back): Howard, Prince, Teix, Lincecum/Felix (probly not both), Pedroia, M.Holliday, Reyes, Kemp, A-Rod, Lester, CC, Cliff Lee...

Stanton and Dunn -- lock up some power. Don't keep Jeter (as you said you were tempted to do in another thread).

Help?

I would keep sure-thing power dude, Dunn, and Ellsbury. More well-rounded....having both Dunn and Stanton may sink your BA (and may force you to take high BA guys for the rest of the draft (who are scarce)...

Help with mine?

Dunn and Ells. Best overall balance I'm not sold on Jeter. And you could probably get him back or upgrade to Reyes.

I'd go with Dunn and Stanton. In H2H, triples and SB tend to be the most inconsistent categories week to week. Stanton has more overall upside than Ellsbury and if he hits say, .260-270, well then that's just gravy.

You already have good speed so I would take Stanton and Dunn.

Do you guys trust Jose Reyes? If I don't keep Jeter, who should I aim for at SS? Would rather use 12th/13th picks for stud aces or a Kemp or Prince type.

if you think Howard/Prince/Tiex/~Kemp are gonna be there when you pick; I'd keep Dunn & Jeter. Both are consistent if nothing else and you can draft a big bat. Also if Reyes is the only good SS left, then Jeter is a good value with position scarcity
