Keeper Draft tonight - one question

Postby bighurt135 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:08 pm

Hey all,
12 team keeper league, 6 keepers, standard 5x5

I kept:
King Felix
Josh Johnson
Chris Carpenter
Brian McCann
Justin Morneau
Aaron Hill

I have the #5 pick in the first round and the following players are available:

Pence
Bautista
Ichiro
McGehee
Alexei Ramirez
Stanton
Barton
Andrus

I'm leaning to taking Pence if he gets to me, but does that order seem right? I'd love to fill SS or 3 right off the bat, but I think I'd rather take the best available player off the top. Who would you go for?

Thanks for any input. Draft in 2 hours :D

It's between Pence, Ichiro, and Bautista for me. Personally, I am not a Bautista fan at all so I wouldn't draft him. So it's Ichiro or Pence and that's your call as they are almost identical in value. If you like Pence more than you should go for it. I would probably lean towards Ichiro simply due to the consistency and the fact that you have some power in two weak positions (C and 2B).

Thanks. I'm a Jays fan so there is a bit of bias, but I'm leaning to Pence if he's available because it's a keeper league and his trade value alone makes him a bit more valuable than Ichiro.

Follow up q: would you value Alexei Ramirez over Andrus?

Cool, I'm probably going with that list. And the fact that you list Pearl Jam country as your location instantly makes me happy. :-)

That's a good list, but I might put Stanton above Baustista. One is on the way up and the other could have just had a fluke 12 months. But I doubt you go wrong either way.

Help me please real quick?

Thanks. I gave you feedback (Stanton and Dunn).

I'm now questioning whether to target Andrus over Ramirez. Ah too many things to consider!
