We keep 10 for the first time in a 10-team, mixed 7x7 league (std 5x5 with hitter Ks and Es and pitcher Ls and HLDs) with 27-man rosters.
Locked in keepers: C: 1B: Votto 2B: 3B: Youkilis (after 5 games) SS: CI: Fielder MI: LF: C. Gonzalez CF: Kemp RF: Bruce OF: Stanton OF: SP: J. Johnson SP: D. Price RP: RP: P: P: P: P:
I think my last spot comes down to Greinke, Beckham, or Delmon Young. Beckham seems like the best fit to lock up 2B for a few years. Young seems to be one most easily replaced, and the one least missed with my OF depth. Greinke is a proven Cy Young winner moving to a new league.
I've considered cutting Youkilis solely due to his age, but I think he has at least a couple more years in him. If he's gone, I'd go Beckham and Greinke, for sure.
The others on my roster worthy of consideration would be Wieters, McGehee, Adam Jones, Chris Young (OF), Adam Lind, Buchholz, Scherzer, Chacin, and Chris Sale.
I'd consider them in the order you have them listed. You could use more pitching and you're likely not going to do much better than Greinke in the draft. Beckham should be solid at a relatively weak position. Young will be productive, but you have good depth in your OF already.
Nah, regardless of need I just think Price is too much of a stud to give up.
Put it this way: if you were to trade Beckham or Price on opening day, who would fetch more? Not that this is the way to go about it necessarily but that sometimes helps me think through these tough calls.
