I'm in a 15 team keeper roto league. Positions are: 2 Cs, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, 5 OFs, Util. and 9 Ps (any combo of SPs and RPs). We also have 9 bench slots. Categories are: Doubles + Triples, HRs, KOs, OBP, Runs, RBI - HRs, SB - Caught stealing, SLG, ERA, Ks, CGs, Holds, HRs Allowed, Net Saves, Ws - Ls and WHIP. You must sacrifice the draft slot you selected your keeper with, which I've indicated before each one. We can keep up to 7. Weeks would be a 4th rounder and Jared Weaver is a 6th. I managed to acquire extra 4th, 5th and 6th round picks previously so that would make their rounds more accomodating. The other manager would be sending me his 8th and 9th rounders for my 22nd and 23rd. Do I pull the trigger?
*Carlos Santana – C - 17 *Kevin Youkilis – 1B - 16 *A-Rod – 3B - 1 Neil Walker – 2B - 10 *Adam Dunn – 1B - 3 Aubrey Huff – 1B/OF - 17 *Angel Pagan – OF - 31 Carlos Quentin – OF - 20 *Domonic Brown – OF - 30 Chad Billingsley – SP - 10 Madison Bumgarner – SP - 10 *Cliff Lee – SP - 29 John Danks – SP - 13
To me, the only reason the manager is proposing this offer is for the fantastic value for CSantana. With the extra picks in rounds 6-8, I might consider a 1-for-1 trade, but with this current deal, I would pass.
Told him I liked Santana's value more than either of the guys I'd be acquiring. He sent another proposal where he'd send me Weaver and his 7th and 16th round picks for Santana and my 22nd and 24th. Thinking about sending him a counter where I'd send him Pagan for Weaver to see if he bites. Despite his value, Pagan (for all intents and purposes) was a one-year wonder last year and I don't know that I like the offense he's going to be playing with this year. Thoughts?
