I'm in a 16 team head to head league and I'm sitting with the 5th pick. My guess is the first 4 picks off the board are going to be Pujols, Hanley, Cabrera, Halladay, in some order. If any of those 4 fall I take them, but if not, do I go with Votto or Tulowitzki with the 5th pick?
Thanks, and I'd be happy to help with anyone's post in response.
I would take them BOTH over Halladay, but I hate taking pitchers in the first 2 rounds. There are so few good SS that I would take Tulowitzki over Votto.
Personally, I would have the top 7 or so ranked as Pujols, Hanley, Miguel, Tulo, Longo, Cano. Based off that I think you should go Tulo or Longo. 3b is shallow and so is SS so getting them both taken care of with your first 2/3 picks would be ideal.
I'd go Votto...and agree that BOTH should go over Halladay. Count me as another guy who hates taking SPs in the first 10 rounds, though if, say, Verlander falls to the 7th or 8th for some bizarre reason, I snag him. See mine? Thanks. viewtopic.php?t=423590

I agree I don't like taking pitchers in the early rounds either, but in Head to Head leagues they are so much more valuable than 5x5 leagues I think Halladay will go either 2nd or 3rd. He led the league in points last year and smoked Pujols by almost 100 points. Less than 20 players scored above 500 points for the season in this league and he scored over 700. If he falls to the 5th spot I think I have to take him.
Obviously would love to have any of those players (all 1st rounders), but you gotta go with Tulo. The dropoff with SS after Hanley and Tulo is MUCH larger than any other position.

I'd have to agree with Khann0n here...from everything that i've read and researched, these two positions are probably THE shallowest positions...and i think its would be difficult for me to pass on someone as consistant as Longoria has been. The only problem I see with Longoria, is there is no other talent in the line up around him...that may mean a small decline...just my opinion though.
