Keeper League Rules Help

I know there are 100's of these thread, so I'll try and keep it short. I'm the Commish in our league that will be 5x5 H2H 12 teams, live draft.

Here are the rules, what do you think/what adjustment to be made?

-Can keep anywhere from 0 to 5 players
-Players can be kept max of 3 years
-You draft a player in Round X.
-The next year you have to give up your Round X + 2 pick in order to keep him.
-The year after that you have to give up your round X + 2 + 4 pick in order to keep him.
-The year after that you have to give up your round X + 2 + 4 + 6 pick in order to keep him.
-If you keep a player from a trade and say you have two players who cost the same round draft pick to keep, say you have 2 players that you have to give up your 5th-round draft choice, you have to give up that draft pick and the pick in the round earlier
-If you keep player from a trade and isn't same round as another player you are keeping, then it just goes where he's drafted
-If you keep a player who is undrafted you must forfeit your 15th round pick to keep an undrafted player. If you keep two undrafted players, you must forfeit your 14th and 15th round picks

Also, someone suggested a "Franchise Tag" option. Has anyone ever done that before? Suggestions?

I'll just say I'm a believer in the K.I.S.S. method whenever possible. We keep 15 of 40 every year and do no worry about draft slots, etc. No complaints. I think if you try to get too creative and incorporate too many unique rules it becomes paralysis by analysis. Just my two cents.

I agree with the poster above. If you are keeping five players, they will be the first five rounds of the draft. Anything else gets too complicated.
