First real draft of the year- How did I do? WHIR

16 team H2H 6x6 - standard 5x5 plus OBP and QS

CarGo was my "franchise player" - basically just a keeper with some restrictions. The details aren't really relevant but I figured some of you might be wondering how I got both Pujols and CarGo in a 16 team league. Full roster below with pick # in parentheses. Any and all feedback is appreciated. Leave a link to yours and I'll return the favor.

C Carlos Santana (64)
1B Albert Pujols (1)
2B Dustin Pedroia (32)
3B Casey McGehee (65)

UTIL Ike Davis (192)
UTIL Jason Kubel (224)

SP Wandy Rodriguez (97)
SP John Danks (129)
SP Ryan Dempster (160)
SP Edinson Volquez (161)
SP Anibal Sanchez (225)

That's a great offense for a 16 teamer, I'm guessing you don't have much competition regarding your hitters in this league?

You're definitely missing either a #1 or #2 SP. Looks like you'll need to throw a bunch of starters each week with the hope of winning QS, W, and K and dominate the hitting categories. Keep an eye out for really bad RPs who might stumble into save opportunities. You won't be trying to win ERA and WHIP ever, so if they pick up a save and get shelled it won't hurt you.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

Thanks a lot. I agree with you. I'm excited about my hitting - getting both Pedroia and Reyes on the turn was pretty much my best case scenario. In hindsight, maybe I should have taken a pitcher instead of Santana, because catcher is pretty deep this year. Pitching started thinning out really quickly and I kept having guys that I was targeting taken a few picks before me - the downside of being on the turn. I tried getting some ratio help in the later rounds but it wasn't really there. The guy who has Dan Haren is willing to trade him, but I'm sure he'd want one of my hitters and I'm not sure I want to break up my offense. Hmmm... I've never tried punting ERA & WHIP before, but you might be right that it's the way to go with the way this team is made up...
