10 team, 6x6 H2H league, where we each keep 3 keepers per year from rounds 4 and beyond for only one year only. I can't keep MCab, Howard, or Zimmerman. Who of the following should I keep? Cano is a given so what other two players should I keep?
Cano Reyes Granderson Beckett Josh Johnson Kershaw Quentin Neftali Feliz Jared Weaver Liriano Price Brian Wilson
I think you have to take Kershaw along with Cano. He's going to keep getting better and he is a solid source of production in every starter category. Beyond that its tough. Reyes if you think others are going to keep shortstops worse than he, but its a tough call. I also like Liriano, but he comes with a huge risk for injury. Not a fan of keeping closers. I also don't think Weaver can repeat. Quentin is definetly not keeper material. So all in all I would say Kershaw, Cano, and Liriano or Price, but both come with asterisks. Thanks for the help on mine!
Cano, Kershaw and Weaver. I agree with above post about Cano and Kershaw, but as for Weaver, he is young and just approaching his prime, so IMO it is not a questions of repeating last year's numbers, I think he is on his way up. And don't forget he pitches in a very weak division (Seattle, Oakland...the only team that hits isTexas).
I would go with Johnson in place of Kershaw. Based on extensive projections, it would mean giving up 20 Ks but dropping ERA by almost half a run. Both are great options though, ones that would make me ignore your other pitchers. And I guess you'd have to go with Reyes, given the state of affairs at Short.
Cano, Reyes, and Kershaw... U have a couple of other good pitchers but I don't think you should keep more than 1... plus SS is painfully thin and Reyes should be in for a good year if that lineup can stay healthy. Take a look at mine.
