Josh Becketts Value

Postby Acholder » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:15 am

Someone is trying to move Beckett for picks in my league and its an 8 keeper league, 12 Teams H2H for points. Wanted to see what people thought his value was with my list of keepers already. We play all the positions; C 1b 2b 3b SS LF RF CF and Util (no CI or MI spots) and 8 Pitcher spots.

The point set up is a little different this year where;
1/3 of Inning= .5
Ks= 1 point
Hit Allowed= -.25
Walks = -.5
Loses= -5
Wins= 7
Quality Start= 3
Earned Runs= -1

Extras for Shutouts, No Hitters, Perfect Games and Complete Games

Keepers 7 of 8:
Robinson Cano (2b- NYY)
Adrian Beltre (3b-Tex)
Troy Tulowitzki (SS-Col)
Carlos Gonzalez- (CF, LF, RF- Col)
Clay Buchholz (SP-Bos)
Matt Cain (SP-SF)
Ubaldo Jimenez (SP-Col)

Question Marks:
Elvis Andrus (SS-Tex)
Paul Konerko (1b-CHW)
Vladimir Guerrero (Util- Balt)
David Ortiz (Util-Bos)
Gio Gonzalez (SP-Oak)
Joel Pineiro (SP-ANA)
Wandy Rodriguez (SP-Hou)
James Shield (SP-TB)
Brett Anderson (SP-Oak)

I have all my picks in the rounds except the 5th and 6th.... I pick last in every round and have an extra pick which is like the 5th pick in the 2nd round.

What would you give up for Beckett or do you think that the value for Beckett isn't worth my question mark 8th keeper and the pick I have to give up.

Also On a side note who would u keep in place of trading for Beckett instead?

Thanks and willing to help anyone that need it with any other questions.

I could draw this out, but I do not think he makes your keeper list or many other leagues of 8-keepers of less.

Help me out???

I would not waste the time with Beckett. You are keeping 3 pichers already, so you do not need a 4th. And I much rather keep Konerko anyway.

I do not like keeping non-establsihedpayers if I have safer, established options. I know Konerko is old and erratic at times, so there is no sure thing with him either. Either way though, I like them all better than Beckett.

No to Beckett,
keep Konerko as your 8th.
