Ben Francisco?

Could Ben Francisco be a fantasy asset this year? How would the situation work out with Brown in terms of his arbitration clock?

Early word on local radio was it was Brown's job to lose, maybe Francisco would platoon some and spell Ibanez. But B-Franc is off to a hot start in spring going 6/16 (2B, 3B, HR, 5 RBI, 1 SB).

If B-Franc were to win significant playing time, he would face a lot of lefties surrounded by Howard, Utley and Ibanez against which he put up a .901 OPS last year.

Obviously he has a track record and is a 4th OF for a reason, but he's only 29 and did flirt with some 15-15-.270 potential while in Cleveland.

solid sleeper in a deep league but imo Brown is either going to be called up in a full time role or in the minors. He's a top prospect and you don't want to stunt his development by putting him in a platoon role.

I'm not super high on him, but he could be a very viable short term play to start the season with Brown out 3-6 weeks with a broken hand.

with Brown out for a while, Ben Francisco is full time in RF?
could he surprise this season? so far in the spring he has .357 AVG with 3 HR and 2 SB.

The upside is that he could go 20/20 but probably 15/15. The downside is that he is a .265 hitter. In deeper leagues he starts to interest me but he's nothing more than interesting waiver wire fodder in the shallow leagues.
