ARod trade in a H2H Keeper League

Postby GHirsch516 » Sat Mar 05, 2011 1:54 pm

Id appreciate some input on an ARod trade Im pondering. Im not sure what to make of ARod this coming season. Im in the 5th year of my 12 team H2H league and each team is allowed 8 keepers (plus 5 minors). Ive been offered some a number of deal for ARod and need help deciding if I should take one.

Deal 1:
ARod & Freeman for Zimmerman & Dominic Brown

Deal 2:
ARod for Matt Holliday

Any feedback would be appreciated.

My current roster
Pujols
Mauer
Phillips
ARod
Ellsbury

Latos
Verlander
Marcum

I like Deal #1.

Zimmerman is great, great player. In a keeper, I'll take him over ARod. Brown probably has a higher ceiling than Freeman so I think you're winning there too.

I don't think either of those deals is enough to trade A Rod. I would look for a deal that you can get a pitcher to pair with Verlander for a better 1/2 punch.

Help on mine?

I like both deals for you, but trade #1 is the better option. I prefer Zimmerman to A-Rod anyways, and you're getting a very hyped prospect in Brown to go along with it.

I take neither, but if I have to, I'd take #1.

I don't plan for much more than 3 year windows in my keepers, and A-Rod's going to have one year of pure spitting fire yet. Over 3 years, he's still better than Zimmerman.

I do like Brown a whole lot, but there will be growing pains.

Only #1 if you can't win this year at all. Otherwise pass.

I would contemplate first deal, but with Brown's broken hand, you should shy away.

Comforting piece: There is a theory out there about A Rod and his odd years. Hate to me them.
