After playing a few minor league games at second base this week, Tony Womack debuted at designated hitter for the Cardinals on Friday against the Tigers. Womack didn't disappoint, reaching base four times (including two singles), and stealing two bases off of Pudge Rodriguez. "How's that for a first impression?"

By the end of the weekend we should have a better feel for La Russa's second base and left field plans, but right now there appears to be a good chance of Womack opening the season as their second baseman and leadoff hitter

Would he be worth a pickup for someone looking at jimenez or kennedy or roberts as the ir 2bag?
