Spring Training Stats

Postby The Mighty Trow » Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:45 am

Read an interesting tidbit in Baseball Forecaster that got me wondering about spring training stats and fantasy performance. Not really interested in projections. Trying to answer if they can they help identify players taking their game to the next level.

Anyone know of any research about this?

Or a place that keeps track of ST stats?

Cheers

i'm sure mlb.com has ST stats.

also:
John Dewan via Baseball Forecaster wrote:A hitter with a positive difference between his spring training slugging percentage and his lifetime slugging percentage of .200 or more correlates to a better than normal season.

Yeah, MLB definitely has ST stats (I'm already getting a little obsessive :-D ).

Its one of those features I like to keep quite because 10 out of the 12 teams in my home league dont know about it. Its very helpful to say the least.
