Apparently the Iranians think the 2012 London Olympics logo is racist. The Iranian Olympics chief czar guru dude, thinks this logo spells Zion in a hidden message.
I always thought some Leyton Orient fans sketched it. The 2 looks like a skewed L, the 0 (or a weirdly stylized shape meant to be 0) can be construed as an O, and the 12 just looks like an "R". Makes sense seeing how the Olympic Stadium is in Stratford, which is a couple of miles from Leyton.
Would be a pretty cool logo if it was for the 1990 Olympics. And honestly the first word I thought of when I saw it was "Zion". Still, I'd be offended by the horrible design before worrying about a silly subliminal message.

I didn't even notice it said "2012" until ayebatter just mentioned it. First thing I thought of when I saw it was Lisa Simpson giving a blow job, but then, that's often the first thing I think of, regardless of the situation.

ha.. I though it was supposed to be some messed up representation of europe. with the L being england. but, yeah.. lisa simpson giving a blowie is much more accurate.
And politician Vladimir Zhrinovsky feels all three mascots are an insult to Russia. The leopard is “a bloodthirsty animal, it doesn't evoke any happiness. The bear is a most stupid animal. And the rabbit is a coward, it's always running,” he said, as quoted by the news agency Interfax.
