I play in a 12 team mixed keeper league. You can keep up to 10 players. Scoring catagories are R, RBI, HR, OBP, SLG, SB, W, S, K, WHIP, ERA, BAA
I have chosen to keep: C Mauer 1B Fielder 2B SS 3B Reynolds OF Kemp OF Cruz OF Werth UT SP Carpenter SP Scherzer SP Hamels SP Liriano SP CL CL Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben
However, I am having second thoughts on both Carpenter and Reynolds. I was thinking of trading my 11th round pick (first pick of draft) for Elvis Andrus and then not keeping one of Carp or Reynolds. This a good idea or not?
I'm not sure it's worth an 11th round pick. Andrus is basically a 1 trick pony and you have enough in Kemp, Cruz, and Werth to get you around 60 steals. Considering you have SLG as a category, the more power the better.
I would think more like 13th or 14th if you wanted to make the deal.
If I did the trade I would just lose my 11th and still have a 12th (6 picks later) I just know that Andrus will be picked by then and I will end up taking a guy like jeter in the 11th when I would rather go after a power guy for my UTIL Spot. I guess I could hold off and just try to grab Desmond late
I'd take Jeter over Andrus in a heartbeat, I'd be surprised if he was still available at that point. Your league setup clearly values power (RBI/HR/SLG) over speed (R/SB).
Whether you hold on to Reynolds depends on how you think the 3B field is going to look like going into the draft. I would have no problems with you dropping Carpenter if you can acquire a better player.
