Does anyone in the KC area or beyond know if Mike Moustakas might win the job at 3rd base this year? He's having a great start to spring training.

I don't think he will start the year off at the major league level. If he is mashing the ball at AAA like he was at AA then he will have an early call up. Otherwise, I look for him to get the call around the All-star break.

Doubt he starts the year off in the show though.

I'm going to keep my eyes on this thread. I too am VERY curious as to this player's progress. I have him on my radar and from what I've read I really think he could be a break out player and an offensive anchor for years to come.

I have heard a lot on this subject and I own him on a couple of my minor league rosters. I have seen just as many experts say he will start the year on the major league (even some of the guys on the MLB network think he will) as I have say he will start the year in the minors. If I had to bet money on it I would say he is going to start in the minors because of the same reason most prospects do (service time). KC has a lot of prospects about to come up so I think they want to keep them all as long as possible at the same time before they lose them all because they cant afford them. With that said, I am still taking him and stashing him where I can because even if he does start the year down there I bet when he comes up he is going to be just like Mike Stanton last year and I dont know about you but if I could go back and donate a bench spot to Stanton in the first half of last year to get his production in the second half and beyond I would do it. I only play in keeper and contract leagues though so if you are in a one year simple/beginner league then you are on your own.

Interesting, all signs point to him being called up early at the very least, sounds like a player worth drafting.
