Mariano Rivera or Joakim Soria in Keeper League? WHIR

I have both Rivera and Soria as keepable closers in my league. I do not want to keep two closers, so I have to make a choice.

If it were just this year, I would go for Rivera, but I am wondering if it is worthwhile to throw him back to the pile for Soria, who has much more potential for the long term. Any thoughts?

I think your initial thoughts were right on point - in a one year league, I'd keep Mo. However, as this is a keeper league, I think you have to go with Soria since he will be productive for your team for many years to come.

I think you have to go with Soria, he is being compaired to Rivera this year and the thing that scares me most with Mo this year is the addition of Soriano to the bullpen after his great past 2 years with Atlanta and Tampa. I think he takes a lot of chances away from Mo this year just because of his age. And well in KC no one really is going to challenge Soria for the spot. Plus if you look at the numbers last year Soria has a little bit better of a season (in my league which is points seeing as I also had both closers).
