Longoria is a major upgrade over Youkilis, who seems to miss about 20-30 games at least every year.
Hamilton/Crawford is tough, because you're giving up your SB, but other than that, the numbers could be very similar, and the power numbers theoretically will be in Hamilton's corner.
I guess we should compare the Chicago players--Dunn is (far and away) better than A-Ram. Better HR and RBI, comparable average.
Davis, Papelbon, Lester...and you get Ubaldo and Nathan back. You get a worse starter (but Longoria/Hamilton/Dunn could be worth it)...but it's not an unbearable change. Papelbon is not as great as you think, and considering he has Jenks and Bard (who has an absolute filthy arm) one injury or one slip-up could cost him the position. Nathan I'm confident will get back to his old form quickly, and hold onto what will be a lucrative closing position.
I think for the upgrade to Longoria, I'd do this trade. However, because of the Red Sox lineup and because of Lester's general greatness, I understand if you want to hold on to pieces like Crawford, Youk, and Lester.
