Carpenter Injured Now?

Postby Bravos of Steel » Tue Mar 01, 2011 3:09 pm

Uh oh...from Rotoworld:

Chris Carpenter was lifted from Tuesday's spring exhibition game with an apparent injury.
Can it get any worse for the Cardinals? Carpenter threw 32 pitches -- 17 for strikes -- before calling for a trainer and then walking off the mound. The Cards have already lost right-hander Adam Wainwright to Tommy John surgery and can't afford another injury in the starting rotation. Look for an update later this afternoon

Peter: No, I'm just exhausted 'cause I've been up all night drinking.

Tony LaRussa might be playing the John Voight role from Varsity Blues behind the scenes.

JK, hopefully Carpenter will be ok, the Cards can't afford to lose him. I was already down on Carp this year in drafts. He's getting long in the tooth and I was concerned about him staying healthy as it was.

You hope that he felt something irregular and pulled himself as a precaution just to be safe but anytime a pitcher calls for the trainer on his own accord it's a scary situation.

I just need to get this out of the way really quick: REALLY ARE YOU KIDDING ME WTF WHY DON'T YOU JUST RAM A BUS INTO THE BULLPEN WHILE YOU'RE AT IT

Ok, little better now thanks.

Anyhoo, unfortunately not a big fan of Carp's this year but this does provide even more concern. Hopefully just a minor thing.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

D'oh! Mitch Boggs, who relieved Carp, was pulled himself after suffering a back injury. You can't make this stuff up.

Rumor has it is it's not an arm injury. I'm hearing that he tweaked his hammy.

I'm confused. Did someone in the Cards organization sleep with someone from the Mets? Where did the team catch this??
