I think they both have a fair amount of Upside but as you said smith has the job right now and morse should be on waiver wires once the season begins. Smith has also done it before with limited time so I'd go smith for the moment. Morse could be a nice in season pickup though.
Can't believe both have been playing so well, but Morse is in the lead on this one. How about throwing Dunn into this mix. How would you rate those 3 for the rest of the season?
Smith has a career OPS of .848. He OPSed .889 two years ago. His success this year is not a surprise. I'd take Smith over Morse in a vacuum, but in Colorado you always have to watch for PT issues.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Morse has an OPS of about .866 over his past 466 AB's along with 25 HR's. Plus Seth Smith's stats are padded because he sits against lefties. It's Morse and it's not that close.
Morse easy, hes doing it, and not in Coors. Plus hes an everyday cleanup hitter, with Zimmerman returning tomorrow, he could reach 100 rbis even with a non existent April
