I just pulled off a great trade in my 5X5 league. I gave up Oswalt and Green for Prior! Prior's owners must be getting nervous about the injury. It's not even an arm injury. Oswalt could be just as risky with the groin problem. Take advantage of this chance to get Prior at a HUGE discount. When he comes back in mid-April and dominates the NL I will be looking pretty sweet!

Edit: Sorry...Khalil Green, not Shawn Green!!!

while prior is indeed the best pitcher in the game (in my humble opinion), and obviously the best young pitcher in the game.. a healthy oswalt is, i'd say, in the top 3 best young pitchers in the game.
who has the best winning percentage of all active pitchers with 50 or more career decisions?
mister oswalt.
seriously his era could be low threes or mid to high twos, and he's a damn good pitcher. i think prior is better than him, but not by an amazingly huge margin. if shawn green somehow returns to 40/100 form, you just might be kicking yourself for making that trade, if shawn green sucks, then yeah, i'd rank a healthy prior over a healthy oswalt.
You got shafted, Oswalt will win 20 games, with 210K's, 2.76ERA, 1.19WHIP. Green will bat 90, 30, 100, .290. Prior, from the latest I have read from the Cubs trainers, may not be back until June. The Cubs are being extra carefull with Prior.
Indeed it is a great time to trade for him but you got ripped.Oswalt is a stud and will be very close to Prior if both are healthy.Add Green to that mix and you just gave up a guy a smidge below Prior and a 35 homer 100 RBI guy for Prior.

That's my single concern with Prior as well. The Cubs are looking for him to be the cornerstone of their club and seem to have no problem keeping him out half the year to ensure his health.
I'm certainly not saying that this will happen, but given that his achilles flared up after a session and they quickly moved his timetable back I wouldn't be shocked to see him come back in mid-May. At that point you're already talking about a loss of 3 or 4 wins *minimum*.
I don't know, Renteria and RJ is a lot more to give than Oswalt and Shawn Green. Let's not forget what a mediocre player Shawn Green was last year. In any case, what do you think about RJ and Sweeney for Prior?
