Dynasty league trade opinions - Halladay - WHIR

Postby mjrvike4life » Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:43 pm

20 team dynasty league. 6x6 HTH scoring (AVG,R,HR,RBI,SB,OPS / W,K,SV,H,ERA,WHIP).

I would give up:
Roy Halladay (Phi SP)

I would get:
Neil Walker (Pit 2B,3B) *I can call up or leave on protected list
Dexter Fowler (Col OF)
Michael Young (Tex 3B)
and a draft pick in our league's prospect draft

I do have Brett Anderson (Oak SP) I can call up from my protected prospect list. Any opinions greatly appreciated & WHIR. Thanks.

Here's my team as it stands now:
C Brian McCann
1B Adam LaRoche
2B Alberto Callaspo
3B Kevin Youkilis
SS Orlando Cabrera
OF Grady Sizemore
OF Austin Jackson
OF Alfonso Soriano
Util Ryan Ludwick
Util Jim Thome
BN Juan Francisco
BN Melvin Mora

SP Roy Halladay
SP Josh Johnson
SP Matt Garza
SP Tim Hudson
SP Mark Buehrle
SP Brett Myers
SP Jon Garland
SP Joe Saunders
RP Joe Nathan
RP Matt Thornton
RP Mike Adams
RP Matt Capps
RP Joaquin Benoit
RP Darren O'Day

Halladay warrants a much stronger return then that. If you're going to deal him, I'd be looking for a big bat instead of a mixed bag package.

On a side note, you should definitely call up Brett Anderson. He'd immediately become your third best starting pitcher in my mind.

Avsfan is right, if you are looking to trade Halladay I would want a current stud player, rather than a package of fantasy "prospects". Ultimately I would look for something else at this point in the season.

It doesn't make sense to trade Halladay for another veteran player and some prospects.

NO to that trade. Halladay is a monster, you're getting a veteran 3B who I suppose can play utility, along with a young 2B and OF with some upside, but not superstar upside. IMO, no one you'd get in return here is that great, you can definitely get a more substantial piece for arguably the best SP in the league.

No. If you're trading a stud arm, demand a stud bat back in return.
