Dang, no good 3B left. Help me choose one! WHIR!

Postby krunchyfrogg » Sat Feb 26, 2011 8:14 pm

Who should I target? Here are the guys off the table:

Longoria
Wright
Arod
Youk
Young
Reynolds
ARam
Beltre
Zimmerman
Alvarez
Bautista
Sandoval
McGehee
Stewart

I don't even know who's left to pick now! I may as well wait until the last round! Any and all advice is welcome. WHIR!
Looking forward to back to back championships in 2011!

Why did you let that happen?
jokin...i guess Prado. You could always gamble on a Chipper pickup late.

My cheat sheet is telling me to pick up Wigginton. I don't trust my sheet anymore.

Chris Johnson maybe?

Polanco - Prado, potatoe - potahto. A pair of meh options. But I'd take Prado out of the two. Johnson is an alright flier with some solid power potential, but it's really all potential with that guy. If you waited you could probably land Encarnation pretty late, and he's probably going to net you 22-25 homers (with crappy avg, but whatevs). That's pretty nifty for a guy that's going unranked on a lot of sites.

I wouldn\'t touch Infante or Rolen over anyone else we've talked about. I'd take EE over Wiggy too, if it came to that.

Prado is a steal that late, he's a top 12 3B as far as i'm concerned plus he has stellar versatility. I'd also give Headley a look before I thought about drafting Chris Johnson or Scott Rolen

I think Rolen could end up being a good late round pick. He was still very solid last year and the Reds are a team on the upswing. Headley may have more upside, but he also has more downside.

I feel left out not being as high on Prado as a lot of guys. :-D I don't think Prado has the power potential that a lot of projections seem to gift him with, and once you drop his projects from, say, 18 homers to something more like 12, he starts to look awfully boring. HIgh Avg and nothing much else besides versatility. I'd at least like to see some speed in there, but he doesn't have that either. I'll wait 7 or 8 rounds and take EEs 25 homers if I had to pick.

Encarnacion intrigues me.

Is he the everyday DH?

How did I end up in the DTKW forum?
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.
