There's a manager in my league who is a huge Reds fan and really wants Joey Votto. He's offered me my Joey Votto/Jason Bay FOR his Buster Posey/Tim Lincecum. Should I accept or reject?
Yahoo! 10 Team H2H League R, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
C Mike Napoli 1B Joey Votto 2B Ian Kinsler 3B Placido Polanco SS Alexei Ramirez OF Jason Bay, Corey Hart, Andrew McCutchen UTIL Kevin Youkilis BN Michael Bourn, Carlos Quentin
SP Roy Halladay, Matt Cain RP Brian Wilson, Jose Valverde P Clay Buchholz, Ricky Nolasco, Leo Nunez BN Phil Hughes, Jonny Venters
That's a crazy shallow roster size for being only 10 teams. You can for sure add some nice SP talent throughout the year off the waivers.
You got Halladay and Cain already and Posey will NOT replace Votto (your best hitter). Plus, I like Napoli this year...going from LA to TEX is a huge upgrade in ballpark for him.
Initially I noticed Youkilis in your Utility and thought of shuffling him to 1b, but you'd be better served putting him in as 3b (once he gains it) over Polanco. Posey won't replace Votto's production and you don't need the catcher with Napoli IMO. Plus your pitching is good enough as is..now if you didn't have Halladay or Cain I would say do it.
Thanks for the help, I'll decline. Initially I thought I should accept, but I agree that going from Votto to Posey (even though I really like Posey and I owned him last season) is too much of a downgrade.
He really wants Votto and his best player is Carlos Gonzalez. I know I would still have to play Youk at 1B, but what about a straight swap of Votto/Gonzalez?
