Keeper Question with unique rule

Postby upstate32 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 9:28 pm

I am in a 10 team keeper league where you can keep 6 players. Standard 5X5 H2H.

I kept

1) Han Ram
2) Miggy
3) Braun
4) Kemp
5) Price
6) Wainwright

We have a rule where if a player goes down between the time keepers are submitted and the draft, you can replace the injured player with a player from you roster last season.

I am definitely replacing Wainwright. My question is who do I replace him with?

Options are:

Buster Posey
Andrew McCutchen
Zach Greinke

I'm leaning towards Posey since he can also play 1B if Miggy has a relapse!! Help me with this tough decision please!!!

McCutcheon for me all the way.

If you beleive in the mid-to-lower tier catchers, then especially McCuthceon.

But if you're like me and don't really want to wait on Kurt Suzuki and Napoli then you may want to roll the dice on Posey. He has tons of promise obviously.

I like McCutchen as well... very solid all around player.

I'd go with McCutchen too. McCutchen is a more proven 20/40 candidate and I think some people are a bit too optimistic on what constitutes Posey's floor.

i would choose grienke. from the looks of your keepers, it looks like you wanted 2 aces. based on who else is being kept, posey might be the best available catcher in a weak group and he does have dual eligibility.

I'd go Greinke.

Gut said Cutch, but you'll have a stud with Greinke going to the NL. That said you'd have a nice OF with Cutch, Kemp, Braun too..

Help?

This. he's underrated imho especially if he gets to hit in the 3 hole.

you already have 2 of the top 5 OF so i wouldnt keep McCutch. You can draft a guy like Gardner in the 10th rd or later if you need steals, and still have good avg and runs.
i would keep Posey. If anything, Posey is likely to land you a more valuable player in a trade than McCutchen is
