AL/NL 14 teams, 12 keepers with no restrictions. 25 man rosters with one IR spot. (c, 1b, 2b, ss, 3b, of x4, ut (Infield only), sp x5, rp x2, bench x8)
Scoring is slanted towards pitching in this league, though I understand that replacement value is important. I have been offered Josh Johnson for Ryan Zimmerman. I have David Wright, so I would be ok at 3b, but with Billy Butler as my only 1b and no other good options for ut, I am worried about it. I have also been offered Posey (C,1B) for Zimmerman, but I usually don't like to have much invested in catchers. I already have the start of a good rotation (Lee, Verlander, Kershaw), but Johnson is a beast. My two concerns are Johnson's health, and the corner infield postitions. Thanks in advance for any help.
Deal or no deal?
Also, if anyone has the time, I could really use the help on keeper decisions.
My roster looks like this (I have one week to decide on the keepers):
C - empty (traded J.P. Arencibia for a early 2nd round pick) 1B - Billy Butler 2B - Chase Utley SS - Jose Reyes 3B - David Wright OF - Ryan Braun OF - Brett Gardner OF - Drew Stubbs OF - Carlos Beltran UT - Ryan Zimmerman
SP - Cliff Lee SP - Justin Verlander SP - Clayton Kershaw SP - Brett Anderson SP - Josh Beckett RP - Jonathon Papelbon RP - Andrew Bailey
IR - Johan Santana
Notable bench/prospects:
SP - Michael Pineda 2B - Dustin Ackley RP - Craig Kimbrel

Final spot Papp or Beckett. I wouldn't trade Zimm for anyone out of the top 20
Thanks for the help. You both have Stubbs and Anderson as keepers. Because closers are ALWAYS over-valued in this league, I was going to try to keep either Bailey or Kimbrel. Stubbs BA worries me a bit, as does Anderson's health and mediocre K's. I am also intrigued by Pineda. I know he is young and I have better options, but trading potential "stud" pitchers for established players is one of the reasons my team is relatively stacked for such a deep league. Still, Stubbs could easily go 30-30 this year, so...
Thanks again for the help. Feel free to post links to yours and I will help if I can.
New developments- I traded Ackley and Beltran for the third overall pick, and I also traded Stubbs and PIneda for Josh Johnson. Now I have 4 of the first 20 picks, and my keepers look like this:
1B - Billy Butler 2B - Chase Utley SS - Jose Reyes 3B - David Wright OF - Ryan Braun UT - Ryan Zimmerman
SP - Cliff Lee SP - Justin Verlander SP - Clayton Kershaw SP - Josh Johnson RP - Jonathon Papelbon
With one spot left, do I go with Anderson, Beckett, Bailey, or Kimbrel. I have a pretty good 1-4 in the rotation right now, so I should probably keep another closer, but would like to hear what others think. I should be able to get one of them back with the 3rd pick, but I will probably need to focus on OF early. Thanks again for the help.
I think for your final pitching spot, I would take the chance on Brett Anderson. I think if he remains healthy, you should bury the competition in most pitching cat's.
