Just in case some of you were holding out hope, or maybe it hadn't quite settled in yet.
St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright (elbow) had successful Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow Monday, Feb. 28, reports ESPN's Brian Stull. The surgery "went very well," according to general manager John Mozeliak. Wainwright will miss the entire 2011 season

Seems to me that those two sentences shouldn't be allowed to be next to each other. :-[

The surgery "went very well,"

Doctors have said that about Dustin McGowan like four times now. :-S

I'm going to go ahead and ignore the prognosis of someone who just a couple days ago was talking about "ligementy" damage.

Yeah, given the Paletta's track record for the Cardinals I'm not really encouraged by "went very well"

Scott Rolen has no idea what you're talking about.

I did. He said, "I don't want to talk about it. Talk to Glaus."

From an article detailing past injuries to Cardinals:

JD Drew

Year: Whenever
Injury: Whatever

JD was placed on the DL during that one season when he suffered a crucial injury to his body while doing something.

He went through an extended rehab stint and made his way back to the lineup before tweaking a past injury and sustaining another setback.

That’s all we know.
