Pick 5 Keepers

Postby kingwilson22 » Mon Feb 21, 2011 10:03 pm

We keep 5
7x7 (R,2B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS : IP, W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHP) h2h, 12 teams
1 player per pos, 3 OF spots, 1 Util
3 SP, 2 RP, 3 P

C - V Martinez
1B - M Cabrera
2B - Dan Uggla
SS- Troy Tulowitzki
3B - Wilson Betemit
OF -Shin Soo-Choo
OF -Delmon Young
OF - Drew Stubbs
UTIL - Paul Konerko
BN - Buster Posey

SP - Adam Wainwright
SP - Clay Bucholz
SP - Jered Weaver
RP - Huston Street
RP- John Axford
P - Chris Perez
P - Matt Cain
P - Brett Anderson
BN - Jhoulys Chacin

I won my league last year, so I have the last pick in the draft. Some keepers are obvious (Cabrera, Tulo, Wainwright) but i'm leaning towards keeping Posey so that V-Mart gets picked early in the draft and gives me a better chance of landing a Pitcher early on (pitching will fly in my league) and Choo since OF is probably going to be slim pickings. What do you think?

Wow... I'm glad I don't have Cabrera right now, because given his problems I just don't know what to expect from him this year. I certainly don't consider him to the reliable first rounder that he should be. So Tulo is a given, and I like keeping Posey or VMart, I agree with Choo and Wainwright as well...
If you are set on Cabrera, then I agree with your list... and would probably do that myself... but given the depth at 1B, and my lack of certainty, I'd be tempted to go with the consistent production at a shallow position Uggla provides.
I think most people will think thats crazy... but I don't like studs who feel untrustworthy.

Please help with mine...

I'd go with Posey and Choo. Both should be top 50 in rankings this year. I think you have to keep Cabrera even though he may not start the season with the team given his circumstances. However, I don't think he'll be out long.
