Hey cafe,
So I've started with my preparation for my first auction-style draft, and I've run into a bit of trouble. I've been customizing a projections spreadsheet to get rankings tailored to our settings, but I don't know how to even start applying dollar values to this list. Example: Pujols is projected to rake in 650 something points. I have no idea, however, how to value that in terms of auction dollars. It seems like there are too many variables to make this possible. I need to consider our custom cap ($370), whatever our rosters must look like, and how our scoring system may be different than others (though points, ultimately, serve as some sort of definitive value).
So should I even worry about attempting to figure out dollar values here? It would be to my advantage to know what type of points-per-dollar I could get come draft day.
Is there some kind of master calculator out there that considers these many variables? Is there some sort of formula I could use in Excel? Any help is greatly appreciated as I've never dealt with this type of draft before. Thanks!
