I have only 7 picks left even though its early in the drafy, becasue I have slots of picks in the 1st round...but I have 2 picks coming up real soon...( 12 picks before me and then I pick twice in a row) I have some gaps..Catcher is one of them...I am eyeing Iannetta from Colorado...I probably should grab him as he is probably one of the best left...but I am tempted to gamble on catcher to see if I can get him a little later or maybe even one of my last picks..its not the end of the season if I dont get him or a good catcher at this point
WOULD JOHAN SANTANA BE A GOOD PICK FOR A 6TH STARTER?
MY NEEDS: more relief pitching as holds is a category, bench ,speed , and the old philosophy of grabbing the best player available regardless of need
I listed my team so far I listed some available hitters and pitchers and I listed a list of catchers still around
Hope you can help thank you

Negatory on Johan - not coming back until late June or July and even then not sure what type of production, most guys coming off injuries struggle a lot.
I like Kuo or Meek like the last guy, but I also like Bard for holds too.
I would jump on Iannetta especially considering OPS - if you can get a Catcher that isn't a drag on 3-4 cats that is great.
I might wait on the holds guy (they are around whenever), but take Iannetta and Crisp or A.Escobar here (speed and bench). Look at your holds guy later and Richard or Bailey
looks like my 2 picks will be Alcides Escobar and Chris Iannetta....does anyone have any other suggestions before I pull the trigger
I like the 3 hold guys suggested...but thinking that maybe I should wait to see if my speedster and catcher might be around? just not sure here... Chris Iannetta is not on the radar for others so i might get him...but after him there really is not many worth a starting spot...I mean they are ok...but I might be struggling with that position all year long...might be struggling anyway as I never have had any luck with catchers... as far as speedter, Escobar should be good...but I have Jeter for SS, he would be a good back up and provide speed too...
I would have gone a little off the board and grabbed Fowler or Peter Burjous and Arencibia. If you want a hold guy and wait on Arencibia I'd go with Bard.
i would have taken pierzynski before ianetta. until ianetta gets 500 ABs he is just potential. i know olivo is gone but tracy loves to give his average players 1 or 2 days off a week and guys like ianetta 3 or 4. id rather have a catcher who will play a lot, at least he can help in your counting #s.
well I am totally confused...hmmm.. maybe i should take a total turn and pick Scott Baker i looks like maybe i should grab escobar...but not ianetta...i didnt realize he would miss that much time..... maybe go with escobar and bard? Maybe aj and jp are better picks and can be taken later? i dunno
crisp is good too but i like the fact that cabrera give me a back up at ss...therefore i have a back up at every hitting position except catcher where i dont have a starter yet..lol
I like the mention of Fowler - gives you the speed you need and the most upside of the group mentioned thus far. After that, I'd grab Bard, Kuo or Meek. I've never been a fan of paying for catchers.
Iwould go with Escobar and Meek. I think they both have a ton of potential and Meek could very well be the closer this year for the crappy Pirates. He is the real deal and you might get some quality holds and saves from him if the Pirates can actually win. Even though Escobar had a rough time at it last year, I love his upside so I would go with him as a back up to Jeter.
