pick 6 keepers

Postby kailromanoff » Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:52 pm

Reigning champ with 10th pick in 10 team 6x6(5x5 + .OPS and Holds) H2H snake draft. We can keep 6 max(essentially top 60 guys are keeper possibilities). However, their are no minimum keepers so often times borderline keepers are sent back to the draft pool giving their owners extra early draft picks. Players can only be kept 3 times. I moved Cabrera for Pujols since they had both reached there keeper limit. My possible keepers with times kept in parenthesis

Pujols(0)
CarGo(0)
Wainwright(0)
Lester(1)
Kemp(2)
Kershaw(0)
V-Mart(1)
Weeks(0)
Hamels(0)

I think the top 4 are no brainers, kemp and Kershaw are borderline but leaning towards keeping and v-mart on is borderline towards dropping. Should I substitute any of the lower guys for kemp or kershaw. Or drop them all from kemp down and get extra picks to see who else got dropped. I am exploring trades, since I don't like the idea of keeping any more than 2 SP also

I would keep the top 6 as you have it. Kemp should rebound with a nice year and having him and CarGo, two potential 30/30 guys, as your top 2 OF's is awesome.

I know you don't want to keep 3 SP, so yes explore a trade. Aim for an infielder. If not though, despite SP being so deep, having Wainwright, Lester and Kershaw will make it easy to skip drafting a SP for a while.

I'd keep Kershaw over the extra draft pick simply because you don't know who will be available at that pick. Kershaw along with Wainwright and Lester gives you an amazing staff to start your team off with.

Well, now Wainwright is out of the picture. Should I keep V-mart or Hamels, or do I just keep 5?

I like keeping V-Mart because it gives you a top 5 C for sure, where as you should be able to draft another SP that is similar to Hamels.

Exactly. Hamels has a few quality comparisons, V-Mart not so many.
