I'm in a 12-team roto (standard stat + Holds/OBP) auction style keeper league. We can keep all we can so long as we're under the $26 cap.
Here's the trade: My Justin Verlander for his Andrew McCutchen
Here's the problem: Currently over the cap by 50 cents.
Now, I'm one to always value bats over pitchers and my initial thought was to jump all over this trade like a bum on a bologna sandwhich. But in doing so, giving up Verlander (1.80) for his McCutchen (2.30) pushes my budget another 50 cents (60 cents if I slot Cueto to replace Verlander). I'm also liking my pitching staff as it is. I'm also shopping a 1.90 Colby Rasmus around pretty hard and got some interest in him.
What would you do? Trade straight up and worry about slashing the budget some more, or should I do a Rasmus and a Price or Latos deal for McCutchen? My team is in my signature below.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. WHIR as always!

I don't see it..
That said, I would make the trade and worry about cutting payroll later. Not knowing the prices on either Latos or Price, I think they both have the upside of Verlander. Trade for McCutchen before his power really develops.
Don't think I would make that deal. I see Verlander as your #1 or #2 starter. If you could move Rasmus and Price perhaps I would. How about your CI and MI, any fillers out there??

My preferences were somehow changed to not include signatures. Problem now solved!
I think this is a tough situation...
I like your SP staff and agree with the guy that said Verlander is the real anchor of your team. He is your most reliable SP, though your staff has tons of talent. But I still like your staff a lot, even without Verlander. I would absolutely make a deal for McCutchen.
I think Ii comes down to preference of who you want to give up. If you could move Rasmus and Latos/Price, your money issues would be solved. Better in the short term and worse in the long term when compared to moving Verlander for McCutchen straight up. I still lean slightly on moving Verlander though. Assuming you can solve your $ situation though. I'm also not a huge fan of Rasmus, so moving him would make sense for me either way.
Make the McCutcheon deal as I think you'd be kicking yourself down the road.
As for Rasmus, I'm sure you could package him with Latos and get a nice return that would help either improve your SP and fill a CI/MI spot. Prolly someone cheap you could grab would be Aaron Hill he still had his power last year and I think(HOPE) he gets back to his usually hitting self and those power numbers would be even better.
I really like McCutchen and would do this trade. that being said, you already have 5 OF on your team and having a good rotation is important, so in your situation I would probably stand pat.

As I stand right now, I am 50 cents over my at 26.10 (need to have a minimum .10 for each open slot heading into the auction). That being said, I have got to move someone to get under the cap and Rasmus, to me, is the odd man out and have had a handful of inquiries about him. So if I move Rasmus for some cheap, promising talent and move Verlander (have a .10 Johnny Queto to replace him) for McCutchen to replace Rasmus? Or just move Rasmus to fill other needs and keep my staff intact?

As much as I like Andrew I wouldnt trade Verlander for him. And nice team by the way. How they heck did you get Votto, Perdoia, Longoria, C-Gone, and J. Upton in a 12 team league? You must do very well
And see if you can get Andrew without giving up Verlander. Good luck!!
