Trade Help Needed WHIR (and quickly!)

Postby Urban Cohorts » Fri Feb 11, 2011 4:21 pm

5x5 Keeper League. We keep 8 players (no restrictions). We use standard Yahoo positions plus some extra hitters (C, MI, CI, OF, OF).

I have a solid set of 6-7 keepers. I have been offered the following trades:

My Tulo for his Greinke and Reyes - This would upgrade my last keeper spot from Billingsley.

My Tulo for his Sabathia, Dunn, and D Young - This would upgrade my last 2 keeper spots from B Upton and C Billingsley.

My Tulo for his B McCann and C Carpenter - Should I even be considering this?

I'm looking to contend this season, but I'm not sure if I am getting enough in return for Tulo. I like the first deal a lot, but I don't know if Reyes will be healthy. For the second deal, I am very high on Upton, so I'm not sure if the new combo of Sabathia/Dunn/Young is better than Tulo/Upton/Bills. The third deal looks plain crappy for me.

Thoughts? WHIR 100% and quickly at that! All replies are appreciated!

I think I would do the first trade for sure. Greinke is going ot be lights out with a contending team

Well Reyes has a lot to prove on the field and to his fantasy owners, though Bills is a solid keeper himself. But Reyes is no slouchy SS. If you have the power to offset this move and upgrade in SB and runs, I'd do it.

Tulo for his Greinke and Reyes is the only deal I'd consider.

No, No and No. Tulo is a top 10 player and deserves a top 10 player in return. Don't under estimate Billingsley. There is actually things to like about his secondary numbers and I expect him to have a very nice year.

Sit tight unless a better deal comes along.

Certainly I wouldnt do the 1st as I'm not trusting Reyes. The 2nd one is actually pretty tempting to me as i really like all 3 players you'd be getting. The 3rd isnt close to the 2nd for me. a potential CY Young, a potential 50HR guy and a very solid OF though.. I find that tough to pass up.
Thanks for the help with mine.

I would not take this deal. I don't trust Reyes plus I think his value is dependent on the Mets lineup staying healthy.
