Help @ catcher Wilson or Victor Martinez

Victor will be playing in the weak AL Central but Wilson should also put up big numbers for a catcher. So which one is better?

Wilson offers more pop...but Martinez will hit for a pretty darn high average. Many people underrate Victor, but he really came on near the end of last year. I think he'll probably hit above .300 with 15 or so homers this year and will really surprise.

Wilson's probably rated higher, but I wouldn't be surprised if Martinez ended up with better numbers.

I urge you to take a chance on Victor Martinez if it is him vs. (I'm assuming) Dan Wilson. Wilson may not even have the starting job this year, and has been in decline for years now. Victor is a stud in waiting, and this year will be the year he begins to blossom.

btw it is Craig not Dan. I like Victors potential and am scared about ABs for Wilson but with Bay starting the yr on the DL due to his shoulder it does open it up for debate. Thanks to all who have responded and more are welcome to chime in please. Thank you

C. Wilson will give you very good power numbers if he gets the AB's. Looks like he might this year. He is second fiddle to three guys. If any get injured he will get his AB's.

Here's a pretty good sign of Victor's fantasy potential: The prospect rich Indians organization regard him as their top prospect. This in spite of the fact that he's a terrible defensive catcher. Bard, who is a decent prospect in his own right is an absolute stud behind the plate, but because of Victor's bat he will have to take a back seat. Also, when Martinez isn't behind the plate, the Indians will have him playing first, giving him more games than most available catchers.

I wouldn't be surprised if he posted a .300+ average with 15 homeruns this year as another poster predicted.

I went with Victor but will keep an eye on Wilson for playing sit if Victor starts out slow.
