The number next to the name is the round they would be kept in. I have a ton of guys that I could keep but I think I am leaning towards Carlos Gonzalez 12th, Greinke 13th and Carlos Santana 22nd. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Greinke (13) :-) (I can see your reasoning, but I'm tempted to keep Hudson instead.)
Pettitte (19)
D. Hudson (22) :-) (I like Hudson here. Great value.)

What's the inflation for keeping them beyond this year? I might take that into account too in deciding between Greinke and Hudson. Greinke will probably be better than Hudson this year, but the 22nd versus 13th round cost is a pretty big deal. I always try and think about it this way:

Would I rather have

(a) Greinke + 22nd round pick
(b) Hudson + 13th round pick

Depending on your draft, I could easily see coming ahead in scenario (b).

All advice welcome on my keeper question.

Agree with the above, Hudson is the play here. I don't like Greinke as a top-tier starter, I think in a format like this you can still get your 'ace' pitcher while keeping the upside of Hudson. I actually think you'll be able to target Greinke around the 10-12th round (depending on the number of teams in the league) so it'd almost feel like a wasted pick.

The other two (CarGo and Santana) are the obvious plays with the other two slots, great values there.

I think I am going to go with Greinke here. I know that the 13th round isn't the best bargain but I think it has less risk. Greinke is now playing for a contending team in the NL. If just feels like he has to have a better year, as a Royals fan it felt like he quit on the team last year. Hudson on the other hand had an amazing time in Arizona but I don't think he can sustain it. He is a flyball pitcher in a hitters park which will effect him at some point.

I'd take Greinke over Hudson as well. Sure you give up a higher draft pick, but like MaudDib mentioned, I too think he's the safer pick. You can't deny Hudson's upside, but he's still only 23 years old and only pitched 95 innings last season. Greinke on the Brewers pitching against the likes of Huston and Pittsburgh gives you a lot to love, and a 13 round pick is still a steal.

Either way, you can't really go wrong.

CarGo, Grienke and Santana also for me. The best 3 that have the best value, not a huge fan of Hudson but who knows. I still think he is a couple years away from being a quality starter and taking the more proven player is the route I would go.

I like Cargo, and Santana, but Greinke value at 13 is a toss up, Hudson is risky, No one sees value in Wandy Rodriguez at 22? I still can't see the Brew Crew as a serious contender, and who knows what Greinke you will get, the confident ace, or the emotional wreck one.

help with mine?
