In a 5x5 keeper league (12 teams). We get to keep 8 and have already narrowed our lists down to 12. The positions are as follows: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, LF, RF, CF, OF, UTIL and 10 SP spots. My current 12 are as follows:
Braun Wright Posey Cano Cruz Kemp Rios Ubaldo
I will be letting these players go - Beckham, Markakis and Buchholz (I've already dumped Butler for a 1st round pick).
So, there is another manager who is willing to deal Tulo. Would you trade Posey and Ubaldo to get Tulo? If so, who do you add into my 8 from the Beckham, Markakis, Buchholz crew? I like the thoughts of taking a flier on Beckham, especially with the MI slot in this league. Note: I'm not sure that he will even accept the offer.
I think I would rather have the Tulo side of the deal. If the other manager doesn't accept I would try to throw in Buchholz or Markakis. I really like Beckham for next year.
You don't have a shortstop. He is one of the best in a position that is relatively shallow with no real prospect on the horizon that can even come close. Tulo is young. He will have a monster year.
Posey is a catcher. While he is position eligible at 1b, he does not hit like a 1b'er. Is he a top 5 catcher? Not yet, but he does have potential.
Jimenez had a career first half year last season, then came back to reality. I doubt he'll exceed last year's performance and perhaps might regress a little (did hitters figure him out enough to erase the edge?). Also, as a pitcher he's naturally fragile, and one mri away from an extended vacation (like all pitchers).
