ell not really impressive but not bad either. pulled some houdini acts or it wouldve been a lot worse. i think ill mainly stick to petco with him.
The wonderful thing about Fantasy Baseball is that it is an evolving art..NOT a science by any means (at least not yet). I read a wonderful article in a popular magazine recently in which a VERY well-known baseball analyst basically admitted to knowingly squat, when push came to shove, about how to really win his league. I'll try to find it and repost it. It's both a good laugh, and a truly humbling read for all of us "experts"

OF:
Morrison Coghlan Snider BJ Upton Rajai
Utility:
Alvarez Lind
Desmond or another OF
Pick 2 OF's and a utility player..
Sorry, little late to the party here but going forward for tomorrow...
Morrison is looking GREAT....albeit through 2 games, so keep riding him until he cools. I'd say Travis Snider's match-up's are certainly favorable enough to keep running him out there. I like Lind to continue his early season mashing- redemption for 2010!
Season-length, though, order them the following:
Travis Snider Pedro Alvarez BJ Upton Adam Lind Logan Morrison Rajai Davis Desmond Jennings Chris Coghlan
"another OF" could be 1st, last, or in-between on this ranking depending on who you are referring to, of course

Whats your thoughts on starting bedard tomorrow @ texas? On the one hand i want to use Bedard while hes healthy but on the other that texas lineup is super scary. I likely need to start him to have much of a chance in k's this week but its not worth it if he destroys my era, whip, and earns me a loss.

While my risky business side would LOVE to start Bedard, the Texas lineup is scaring the bejeezus outta me! They've KILLED the ball (albeit in 3 games), scoring 9, 12, and 5 runs over the past three games. Moreover, they MURDERED Jon Lester, Clay Buccholz, and John Lackey, each of whom we can safely say are better bets for a good game. While Bedard may surprise us all and throw a studly game, my gut tells me he's in for a rocking.
Finally, even if he is cruising, I can't see him pitching more than 5 innings. With his arm being as fragile as it is, it would be prudent of Seattle to let him ease into the full-season workload.
He did have a good spring though, so hope for a better matchup next week and run him out there until the unavoidable injury does hit.
Good luck!

Call me the Duke instead of King for my prediction on Stauffer's debut. He did fine, but I'm shocked by the low # of k's. Doubt that had anything to do with the ballpark. See how he does, but I still am a 2011 Tim Stauffer believer.
Good luck!

Know its just one start but after his first home start yesterday against the giants lasting only 4.2 ip with 1 k my doubts loom large. ill keep an eye on him though and see if he starts coming around.

Hi everybody,
Just wanted to update you all on an interaction I had on another forum. So there I was, meandering happily on this well-known baseball site, when I came across the following response to one of my articles:
Hey FBBKing,
No offense, but I just don't like to take the word of every Tom/Dick/Harry out there...
Any baseball history? Played semi-pro, centerfielder. Father was a SP signed by Phillies. What is your background? Top 50 university-educated in International Affairs, currently earning my MBA at a top 20 program
Are you scouting players or just using formulas? I believe baseball is both an art and a science, so while I love my stats, I still need to see a player swing a bat before believing.
How do you compile your data? Not sure what exactly you're referring to here, but I have access to Baseball Prospectus, and use Baseball-Reference. With those, among others, I've put together some annoyingly large Excel spreadsheets.
Do you consider prospects or just purely MLB players into your info? Up until last season, I mainly concentrated on MLB players, but collecting Bowman cards got me into prospecting. Huge John Sickels follower.
I need to know these things to keep me coming back to your site...
To further quench his (and perhaps your) thirsty doubt, here's some other work I've done:
I write regular news updates and, starting soon, a weekly column for FantasyBaseball.com.
Finally, I have agreements for a bi-weekly column which should begin over the next month with another very well-known site (can't reveal which one yet, sorry!)
Hope that clears up any doubts!
As always, thank you for your continued readership and support!
Signed, The Fantasy Baseball King
