I have both Bustista and Nelson Cruz. I can really only keep one of the other. Another manager has Kinslar. I have been thinking of offering him both players for Kinslar. Bautista can be kept for three more years Cruz for two more years Kinslar three more years I did offer him either player for an upgrade in picks. His 3 rd or my 9th rd. I also mentioned maybe doing the two for one swap. My other keepers are Pujlos Utley Hanley Cabrera Wainwright Either Cruz or Bautista has to go.Rather than just drop I would like to get something for one of them. What would you do? Who would you keep if a deal can't be made. Arod and A. Rameriz are the only two third baseman worth anything in this years draft.
I like them both also, as a Jays fan hard for me not to go with Bautista. Do I think he repeats last year, NO, does he put up respectable 35-40HR, 100+RBI, .280-.290 BA, couple steals, plus the fact that the Jays may move him to 3B to play this season - but should also have 3B eligibility in most leagues from last year anyway gives him an edge over Cruz IMO.
Why do you want Kinsler when you already have Utley, doesn't make much sense to me to deal from a strength to get deeper where you already have a top 5 position player?????
If anything deal Cruz and Cabrera for a Braun, CarGo maybe Crawford or Hamilton plus top end picks .
Cruz is injury prone and has averaged only 325 at bats over the last three years. Bautista averages 100 more ABs per season. That makes your decision easier, IMO. I also don't think you need Kinsler with Utley. As far a trade, don't pass on Zimmerman and Longoria at 3b if they are out there.
I like Kinslar because he can be kept three years. Utley has two more years left. I also believe Bautista could hit 30 or mor hrs again this year .I like Cruz for the lineup, ball park average, hrs and steals he offers. I don't like the health concerns. Its not looking like I will be able to make a trade or get an upgrade in picks. I will have to decide which one to keep in a little over two weeks. Roster freeze down to six Feb 26th I only third baseman avalible in the draft is Arod thats worth as much as either of my two. I will have the third overall pick. Tulo, Braun, Hamilton, Arod , Kemp and Texieria are the best hitters avabile. Lincecum , Verlnader and Lester are the best pitchers.
Kinslar owner would not trade him straight up . I'm looking into another trade or two. I started another tread about that but I'll tell you what's going on here. I have been offered King Felix for my second first round pick. Thats the last pick in the first round. # 12. I still have the third overall pick. Tulo, Braun, Hamilton,Tex, Kemp, arod , Jeter, Lincecum, Lester . Billingsley and Verlander are the yop players avalible. If I do the trade for Felix I can't keep Bautista and Cruz. No room. If I don't do the trade I can only keep one of the two above. But I would have a good shot at getting one of the pitchers listed. I realize the last three aren't Felix but close.And I would get to keep one of the two players I have to drop . If I stay pat which of the two would you keep based on seeing my team. We draft 19. We don't have a bench. Hit 15 and pitch 10 We have two CI two MI and a UTL player that can be anybody. Miggy has one year left and has to go back after this season. Cruz has two years left Bautista has three years left Standard 5x5
