Dynasty Dunn/Young/Gallardo for Zimm/Wainwright

Postby bujfan2030 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 4:17 am

20 team Dynasty H2H 13cat(OBP, QS, Holds, K/9 instead of SO). We're in the middle of a slow draft. Non-salary, No FAAB. Roster 25 + 5 Minor league slots. My team so far
Ryan Zimmerman
Adam Wainwright
Brandon Phillips
Alex Rios
Jeremy Hellickson
Starlin Castro
Carlos Marmol
Mike Trout
He's Offering Dunn/M. Young/Gallardo for Zimmerman/Wainwright. Mostly my instincts say no. Feels like I'm giving up 2 best players in the deal.
His Roster
Soto
Butler
K Johnson
M. Young
S. Drew
Adam Dunn
Chris Young(OF)
Gallardo
Hanson
Papelbon.
1rst basemen still on the board
Pena
Huff
D. Lee
N. Johnson
Carlos Lee
Smoak
Gaby Sanchez
Cuddyer
Cantu
Hawpe
Garrett Jones
LaPorta
Daniel Murphy.

No deal. I know that Dunn has added value because of the OBP but Wainwright is better than Gallardo and Zimmerman is a top 3B which won't be easy to replace.

No thanks. I'd rather have Zimmerman than Dunn and Young and I'd rather have Wainwright than Gallardo.

I don't mind the trade. If it feels wrong, at least counter-offer and see if you can get a little more. But you know that.

I just like Dunn (especially OBP) We all analyze and analyze this stuff, but Dunn is always down-graded. I just don't get it. He is one of the most, if not the MOST consistent HR hitter (minus Pujols) in baseball. I always get him in the 5th or 6th round, and he always hits 35-40 homers.

I can go out and find AVG., runs, sbs anytime. But it's hard, after the draft, for me to go and pluck HRs out of trades or off the wire.

I know Zimmerman is top-tier, and Gallardo is injury-risk. That would be my only reason to not trade staright up. But I love me some Adam Dunn.
