Draft Help

Postby GoPirates92 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 12:39 am

Hello,

I need some help with ranking the following SP for 2011. Standard 5x5 league. Does my list seem reasonable? Did I leave anyone out who should be in that group?

J Verlander
C Lee
Z Greinke
C Kershaw
Y Gallardo
F Liriano
C Hamels
J Weaver
C Billingsley
T Hanson
T Cahill
M Scherzer
C Buchholz
M Latos

Thanks in advance!

i would have Gallardo up a tier but other than that it looks good.

I suppose, but why Cahill? He is awful! There are many better pitchers. Why not Brett Anderson? Or Brandon Morrow? Much more upside with these two pitchers than Cahill.

Actually I like the new ranking but think you might have had 2 SP's better rated than the new ranking. Greinke in the NL is a different pitcher and Milwaukee gives him run support he has never had before. That and being in a small market should help some with his past problems. I'd keep him up in tier 1. His Cy Young was no fluke. Gallardo also belongs where you had him, IMO. His K rate was 2d only to Lincecum in the NL. He is no more than a year or 2 from his prime and could put it all together this year.

What happened to CC, Cain, Halladay, JJ, Wainwright, King, Ubaldo - were they all kept?
I think I am missing something.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to include a few SP. I am going to draft a SP with my first pick in the draft. I pick in the middle, and most people are going to take a SP. So I would like to know how they stack up. The consensus seems to be:

A- Cliff Lee, Verlander. Kershaw, Greinke
B- Hamels Liriano, Weaver, Gallardo
C- Latos, Hanson, Scherzer
D- Billingsley, Buchholz, Cahill

I forgot to include Cain! Where would Brett Anderson and Morrow be?
