2nd overall pick help

Tonight i have my draft and i have the 2nd overall pick. i know the 1st pick is going to be vlad guerrero, but should i take arod or randy johnson with my pick. also, what type of player should i try to pick up in the 2nd and 3rd rounds where i have basically back to back picks? thanks for the help

Arod without a doubt

when it swings back get zito/oswalt if they still there, if not, i'd grab 2 more hitters, maybe Kent and an OF like Giles/Abreu. Too early to draft any other pitcher IMHO.

thanks for the input fellas. randy johnson is just so tempting, but i'm gonna go with arod, then look for a decent starter in the 2nd round and then another hitter like kent or abreu in the 3rd

Take ARod, and if anyone says anything stupid and takes RJ instead, just say "Aha your guy only plays once every one week!"

Assuming 5x5 with 10 players...

ARod definitely with the second pick overall.

With your second round pick, which would be #18, if you want pitching take any of Unit/Schilling/Pedro if they're on the board (no chance in hell, however). It's legit to take Zito there too. For Oswalt, however, I'd consider waiting until the third round. If the guy who goes first grabs him, then don't worry about it. Take another hitter in the third (no one else rates that high a pick) and then grab someone in the 4th or 5th. Some high quality guys like Hudson/Maddux/Mussina/Halladay/Mulder will be left, and you will be fine with any of them.

thanks for the advice fellas...my draft is done and now i have some more questions...there are 12 teams in this 5x5 H2H league with 16 roster spots and no bench players...i have one extra outfielder that i need to get rid of for a pitcher. my lineup is as follows

ok to settle it, i took arod with my first round choice, followed by oswalt and abreu...now i am thinking of trading buehrle and sheff, for zito and ibanez, then dropping ibanez, moving abreu to RF, wells to CF, and leaving stewart in LF and Dye at Util.......smart move or not??? thanks again fellas
