Wieters or Wandy?

Postby corefour » Tue Feb 08, 2011 6:43 am

Trying to settle on my final keeper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

6x6 H2H (standard 5 plus OBP and QS)

Wieters can be kept this year and next year. Wandy can be kept for the next three years.

Already keeping Pedroia and Ethier.

Of the two, I would take Wieters. He has more upside and pitching is pretty deep.

All of this and that Orioles offense looks like it could provide the opportunity for a better than average number of runs and rbi's for everyone in the lineup.

Thanks guys. Just to play devil's advocate - I agree that SP is deep this year, but I think Catcher is pretty deep too. Or at least pretty homogenous once you get past Mauer, V-Mart, and maybe McCann. I'm also concerned about Wieters' ability to hit for average in the majors, but hopefully that will develop. He has shown nice power and does play in a good power hitter ballpark with an improved lineup, so I'm optimistic.

I also have Jason Bay. Would you rather keep him than either of these guys? Concussions scare the crap out of me, and the Mets have a history of handling them terribly. Also, under the rules of this league, Bay can only be kept this year, while Wieters can be kept this year and next year. Wandy can be kept for the next three years.

Thanks again.
