I'm in a 12-team, roto (standard stat + Holds/OBP) keeper, auction league with a $26 cap. Right now, I'm at 25.90 with six spots to fill in the auction. Since I need some cash to bid on these oepn slots, I need to trim a bit more salary. My team is below in my sig.
Anyway, I got a note from another owner that he would consider moving Jason Heyward (1.90) for my Joey Votto (3.00). This would fix my salary issue, but I would be without a 1B heading into the auction. I initially offered Votto and Colby Rasmus (1.90) for Heyward and Kendry Morales (2.60), but he didn't mention yay or nay on that offer.
What do you guys think? I would love to have Heyward on my team, but Votto is my rock solid 1B. For what it's worth, I do have Eric Hosmer lurking in my minors.
Thanks and WHIR as always!

Is there any 1B available in the draft that you know of? My initial thought is to do it. I think Heyward is a future top 10 player plus it opens up your salary a little. Neither one is over priced or a big value at this point so i think it comes down to whether you can find a suitable replacement for Votto. I will say that 1B should be the easier one to replace as OF isn't as deep as most people think.

As of right now, the pickings are pretty slim for 1B that are FA's. Those that will see regular at bats (accodring to CBS) include Mat LaPorta, Lyle Overbay, Todd Helton, Mitch Moreland, Xavier Nady, Ty Wiggington and Brett Wallace. That's not to say there won't be other 1B's out there between now and draft day. But my FA spending budget might be $1 versus other teams that have $10 to spend, just depends on the final cuts a week before draft day.

I personally go Votto here, even tho 1B is usually a stacked position but not in your case......OF, you should be able to find another jem easier like a Heyward this season?
Votto is an MVP candidate, Heyward? who I think will be a star, might experience some growing pains this season.
NO WAY would I move Votto for Heyward. I mean NO WAY. Your original offer is fair (as Morales is a great replacement) but Votto is proven whereas Heyward would be lucky if he ever had a year as good as Votto in 2010. Help with mine please... viewtopic.php?t=421554

If that is all there is at 1B then don't do it. If that changes and you can get a quality replacement for Votto then I would still go for it.
