My keepers - Where are my weaknesses?

I'm in a 12 team 5x5 roto league. We keep 15 players, with salary totaling $320. Each year a players salary goes up $5. I've done a few trades and have my keepers narrowed down to this ($319 is the total salary for these 15).

What are the weak points of this team?

We still have over month to trade before we submit keepers and just wondering if there is anything I need to target or should I just sit tight?

Looks like you need to clear some cap room. I would let Miggy go, at $50 he is over priced. Ellsbury and Lester are both over priced or at value which means you don't need to keep them. Youk also seems to be at market value which means you shouldn't keep him. I wouldn't pay $15 for Putz. And again you aren't getting much value with Gallardo so I probably wouldn't keep him either.

This is what I would do unless you have to keep all of these guys at which point I would look to move some of your bigger contracts.

I agree with MaudDib. Normally, $24 for Gallardo isn't bad, but because you have $50 locked into M-Cab, somebody has to go and help free up some space. Putz for $15 is also expensive since closers are extremely inconsistent (except for the top guys like Soria/Rivera/etc.).

When the auction begins, I would consider looking into young, non-expensive guys like Freddie Freeman/Ike Davis/even Billy Butler (if he is being undervalued) at 1B, since M-Cab at $55 in 2012 could be pushing it.

its a very solid core once you eliminate the overpriced players. I'd cut ties with Ells Putz & Jennings for sure. I guess stars prices get jacked up in a smaller league up but Miggy, Lester & Gallardo can't go for more than that if they were back in the auction so I'd consider letting them go too. Assuming you drop a $30 Ells then your weakness would be speed; which isn't that hard to find this year. Really, your only weakness right now is salaries

Should have mentioned this is not an auction league.

A player is initially assigned a dollar amount based on where he is drafted, last round is $1, 2nd to last round is $2, etc. Each year $5 gets added to the salary. So the idea is to use up as much of your $320 to keep the best possible players.

Anyway, Hamilton at $22, Heyward at $13, Zimmerman at $26 and Romero at $16 and Vald at $19 appear to be your best "Values" (if I understand your pricing system)

I ask "Value" questions on the cafe all the time and they seem to be the most misunderstood questions in all of fantasy baseball!

Ellsbury at $30 and Putz at $15 seem high. I would let them go and keep the cheaper options.
