Wow! Great analysis and feedback. Much appreciated guys!!
Here are the Vote results to my last keeper pick:
- Papelbon (Best overall keeper to win this season on a winnings team. Long term is a concern) 8 VOTES
- Chapman (Consensus agreed this flame thrower has the best highest ceiling for the long run. Unfortunately, his SP spot is not guaranteed and will likely be a MRP) 4 VOTES
- Beckham (2b position scarcity, young, fills my IF/UTIL void) 3 VOTES
I too agree that Papelbon has the most value this year. He's been my keeper the past 5 years and I've netted 0 championships. The youth and talent of Chapman and Beckham are a positive and considering NO ONE in the league is keeping any RP/CLOSERs, Papelbon can easily be retained later.
Building for the future/while trying to win this year is definitely the goal. All top bats and pitchers are already kept leaving me with the likes of Verlander, Weaver, Oswalt, Scherzer, Gallardo as my potential top 1 and 2 rd picks. Sucks I know.
A few posts requested other alternatives to these 3 keepers. They are as follows:
- J Bay
- C Quentin
- S Castro
- D Ackerly
- B Matusz
- J Niemann
- W Davis
- M Pelfrey
Should anybody from the above list be considered instead of the top 3?
