Have you disabled all the plugins to see if maybe one of them has gone haywire?

hmm, i did that but apparently some of them turned themselves back on. they are all off now, and i can access CNN. I'll keep pluggin along and see what happens. thanks

I'm trying out Firefox 4 Beta 10. Some of your plugins won't work with Firefox 4 right away, but I find it to be less visually cluttered like Chrome. In your case, that might be a blessing.

I just checked out Firefox 4 and their basic interface is ripping off Opera so hard.

I used Opera as my main browser years ago in college. I'm not sure why I stopped using it primarily because I really liked it and for its day, it was much better and streamlined than IE back then (circa 2001-02). I suppose it's taken a back seat since Firefox had gone mainstream and now that Chrome is my browser of choice.

First off, there are ad's everywhere. I am amazed at the volume of ads on the internet, holy cow. Who knew? I haven't seen an add in 3 or 4 years, maybe more. This is amazing.
The Tools menu is gone. All of my tools that were firefox extensions are gone too I guess? Does greasemonkey even work with chrome? thats a must!

I went and looked in the Google extensions, but as usual its crap. Plants versus monkeys or some garbage, is the top recommended extension ... Please tell me there is more to this. Point me to a place that has the tool belt hookup ... pleeaasee ...

and for crying out load, how do i get rid of these friggin ads.

Well for one I've never had Chrome crash on me. Individual tabs on occasion, but never the entire browser.

• Your tools are in the upper right hand corner (wrench)
• It does have AdBlock. I don't use it though.
• Tampermonkey provides Greasemonkey compatibility.

There are some really good extensions out for Chrome now. Some that I use:

• Chromey Calculator
• Go to IMBD
• Baseball Player Search
• Google Dictionary
• sharkZapper for Grooveshark
• Google Quick Scroll
• TinEye Reverse Image Search
• Speed Dial
• Gsplitter

Other Chrome features that I like:

• Search from any website (Google, Baseball-Reference, Urban Dictionary, ESPN, Amazon, Wikipedia, etc) in your address bar.
• Pin tabs
• Task manager
• Paste and Go

I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting.

quick question on this.
is the only place i can switch up search engines, via the wrench thingee?
I used to keep baseball reference as my primary search engine, so i could search any player with a right click. But there was a drop down menu so i could switch between many search engines ...
am i just missing it for chrome or do i have to go into the tools each time.
i use my search engines, a lot.
