Love Axfords stache, but I'd still go with the proven Papelbon.

Papelbon's control struggles are really interesting, but his K/9 is still over 10 and his BB/9 is still less than Axford's. No question Paps is the best choice here.

Papelbon is still the far superior closer. He will be the closer in Boston even with some struggles or he will be traded somewhere else to be a closer. Axford is a solid option but he's unproven...see Joel Hanrahan, Chad Cordero, Derrik Turnbow, etc. All unproven closers who had a solid season or two and then fell off.

Got to go Paps here for one more season at the least....then he leaves Beantown. I am not even sure Axford will get the closers job in Milwaukee
